Refund Policy

Changed your mind? Here is where you stand.

Hotlist Plus is a monthly subscription. Whether you can get a refund for changing your mind depends on where you are, because consumer law differs by country. Here is exactly how it works, so there are no surprises.

Last updated September 21, 2026
By countryThe change-of-mind window is 14, 7 or 5 days where the law sets one. See the table below.
Mistakes fixedDouble charges, wrong amounts and faults on our side are refunded in any country, at any time.
Cancel any timeStop renewals yourself from your dashboard. No calls, no forms.

01The short version

  • Where the law gives you a cooling-off period, you can cancel your first payment and get a full refund within it, without giving a reason. The length depends on your country (section 02).
  • Forgot to cancel? In the same countries, ask within 7 days of a renewal and we will refund it if you have not used Plus since.
  • Where there is no window, a purchase you simply changed your mind about is not refundable. You can still cancel to stop the next charge.
  • If we charged you by mistake, or something we sold you did not work, we will make it right in any country, whatever the date.
  • You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the next charge.

02Refund windows by country

Payments are processed by Paddle, our payment provider and merchant of record. Change-of-mind refunds follow Paddle's Refund Policy, which follows the consumer law in each place. The window starts on the day of your payment.

Where you buy fromChange-of-mind window
European Union, EEA, United Kingdom, Switzerland14 days from your first payment, for any reason.
Canada, Brazil, South Korea, China7 days from your first payment.
Singapore5 days from your first payment.
Everywhere else, including India, the United States and AustraliaNo change-of-mind refund, on first payments or renewals. Section 05 and any rights the law gives you still apply.

Which country counts: the country recorded for your payment at checkout (your billing country). Paddle makes the final call on these refunds, and its policy controls if the two ever differ.

In some places the law lets you agree to start your service straight away, and once you have used it the cooling-off right can be limited or lost. Paddle shows this at checkout where it applies.

03Renewals

Plus renews each month until you cancel. If you buy from a country listed with a refund window in section 02 and a renewal catches you out, ask within 7 days of the charge and we will refund it, as long as you have not used Plus since it renewed. This is a courtesy for people who forgot to cancel, so please do not rely on it every month.

In all other countries, including India, a renewal is not refundable for a change of mind, so cancel before the renewal date if you do not want it. You keep Plus until the end of any month you have paid for, and it will not renew again.

In every country, we will reverse a renewal that was charged by mistake (section 05), and where the law gives you a new cooling-off period after an automatic renewal (the United Kingdom is bringing one in), we will honour it.

04Offers and local prices

Prices can differ by country and are shown in your currency at checkout. If you are refunded, you get back exactly what you paid: the early-user offer price if you subscribed on the offer, in the currency you paid. The same rules apply to offers as to any other payment.

05Mistakes and problems

In any country, and whatever the date, we will refund you if:

  • you were charged twice, or charged after you had cancelled;
  • you were charged an amount different from what was shown at checkout;
  • a fault on our side stopped you from using Plus and we could not fix it in reasonable time.

06Cancelling

Cancelling and getting a refund are separate. To cancel, open your Plus plan in the dashboard, choose manage subscription, then cancel. You keep Plus until the end of the period you have already paid for, and it will not renew. You can turn it back on before then, or subscribe again later.

Cancelling does not delete your account, profile or Hotlists. They stay as they are, and you go back to the free plan.

07How to ask

Email support@hotlist-jobs.com, or use the contact form on our homepage (or Help & Support in the dashboard) and choose Billing or my subscription. Include the email on your account and roughly when you were charged. It works even if you can no longer sign in.

09Your legal rights

This policy adds to, and does not replace, any rights you have by law as a consumer where you live, such as a right to a remedy for a faulty or misdescribed service. Your purchase is also covered by Paddle's terms shown at checkout. See our Terms of Service for the rest of the rules.
