Overview
The Finance team at Confluent Health needs a true technology partner - someone who understands financial workflows, owns the technical side of financial applications, and works closely with Finance from within IT to solve operational problems.
This role exists to strengthen technology ownership for our financial systems, including revenue cycle management, accounting, billing/claims, and related workflows. You’ll help co-own roadmap decisions, system configuration, process improvements, and vendor relationships across the finance application landscape.
This is an individual contributor role, not a people-management role. The ideal candidate is a finance-technology bridge: someone who can understand how Finance works, translate needs into technical direction, and help move solutions forward with speed and accountability.
The immediate focus will include supporting AI-enabled and automation-supported solutions for revenue cycle and accounting workflows, while serving as the long-term technology owner for financial applications. This role complements, but is distinct from, the AI Solutions Engineer builder role.
Responsibilities
Co-own the roadmap for financial solutions (with direction from Financial Leadership and the CIO), including ERP, revenue cycle, billing/claims, accounting, and related systems
Serve as the primary technology point of contact for Finance leadership and staff
Own vendor relationships, including escalations, performance feedback, and renewal input, and roadmap alignment
Use agentic AI tools to help analyze workflows, identify opportunities, and prototype practical solutions
Translate business needs into clear technical requirements and implementation plans
Help drive process improvement across finance workflows
Partner with IT and AI development resources on automation and AI-enabled solutions
Support building, testing, validation, rollout, and continuous improvement for finance technology changes
Maintain visibility into system dependencies, integrations, data flows, and risks
Drive process improvement across finance workflows with a strong understanding of how technology can improve execution
What Success Looks Like
Financial applications have clear technical ownership
Finance leadership has a trusted technology partner
Revenue cycle automation moves faster and more reliably
Financial solutions have a clear and published technical roadmap
Agentic AI is used to accelerate analysis, prototyping, and solution design where it creates real value
Vendor and system decisions are proactive, not reactive
Finance and IT are aligned on the same workflow and the same problem
Technology decisions are grounded in how work actually gets done within finance
Qualifications
Required
4+ years of experience in financial systems, finance operations technology, revenue cycle management, or related workflows
Process improvement mindset, including experience in process mapping, documentation, and Process Improvement cross-functional exercises (i.e. Six Sigma).
Experience bridging a business function and a technology/IT team with real ownership of outcomes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience working with & managing technology vendors
Strong communication skills across business and technical audiences
Working knowledge of automation and AI concepts, with the ability to identify practical applications in financial workflows
Comfort using agentic AI tools to explore problems, prototype solutions, and support decision-making
Preferred
Healthcare revenue cycle management and/or financial ERP experience
Experience in a healthcare, multi-site, or services organization
Familiarity with automation tools, low-code/no-code systems, or AI-enabled workflows
Prior experience in a systems owner, technology lead, or application ownership role
Hands-on development experience is a plus, but not required
What This Role Is Not
Not a people-management role
Not a traditional business analyst role
Not a pure developer role
This role is about technology ownership, workflow understanding, and solution architecture & development within Finance.
Why This Role Matters
Finance is one of the most important places for technology and workflow to be aligned. This role will help close the gap between Finance and IT, improve how critical financial systems are managed, and accelerate meaningful process improvement across the business.
If you enjoy working at the intersection of finance and technology, this role should be a strong fit.
