Role Overview We are looking for a Power System Engineer with expertise in power system simulations, renewable energy grid integration and grid code compliance. The candidate will conduct technical studies, develop and validate power system models, and prepare technical reports for conventional and renewable energy projects. Key Responsibilities • Perform power system studies, including Load Flow Analysis, Short Circuit Analysis and Dynamic/RMS Studies. • Conduct wind and renewable energy grid integration studies. • Analyze LVRT/HVRT requirements and active/reactive power control. • Validate dQ0 sequence concepts, plant controller behavior and grid code compliance. • Conduct simulations using PSS®E, PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or ETAP. • Develop and validate models for Wind Turbine Generators (WTG), turbine generator controls and plant controllers. • Perform Power Quality (PQ) capability studies and Point of Connection/Point of Common Coupling (POC/PCC) modeling. • Prepare technical documentation, study reports and compliance reports. • Ensure compliance with Australian market grid codes and renewable energy interconnection regulations. • Support technical assessments and communicate study findings to project stakeholders. Mandatory Technical Skills • Power system studies: Load Flow and Short Circuit Analysis. • Dynamic/RMS simulation studies. • Renewable energy and wind power grid integration. • LVRT/HVRT analysis. • Active and reactive power control. • Grid code compliance studies. • WTG and plant controller modeling. • Hands-on experience with at least one major power system simulation tool: PSS®E, PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or ETAP. • Technical report writing and documentation. Preferred Skills • Experience integrating wind and renewable power plants into electrical grids. • Exposure to Australian grid codes and compliance assessments. • Experience with Power Quality capability studies and POC/PCC modeling. Candidate Expectations The candidate should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, hands-on simulation experience and the ability to independently conduct power system studies, validate models and prepare technical reports.
