Digital Architect – Data | Contract | Primarily Remote in Canada

Company: Midas Partners Corp Pay: CAD $110 per hour Location: Remote within Canada; occasional Edmonton attendance required Schedule: 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, during Alberta business hours Midas Partners Corp is recruiting a Digital Architect – Data for a public-sector digital services opportunity. You will lead solution and data architecture within cross-functional agile teams, guide the modernization of digital services, and support iterative delivery from technical discovery through implementation. Work arrangement The assignment is primarily remote, and work must be performed within Canada. You must be available from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Alberta time, with a one-hour lunch break. Meetings or work sessions in Edmonton may be required on reasonable notice, up to 10% of total hours. Travel time and expenses to and from Edmonton are the contractor’s responsibility. The client may alter the work arrangement on reasonable notice. Responsibilities • Lead solution architecture, including architectural plans, designs, system boundaries, integrations, and technical risk assessments. • Guide domain modelling and database schema design. • Support technical discovery, feasibility work, and prototypes. • Guide agile teams through iterative implementation; review code and contribute to development when needed. • Mentor team members and communicate architecture decisions to technical and nontechnical audiences. • Identify opportunities to reuse shared services and improve architecture practices and standards. Required qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or an accepted equivalency. • At least 8 years of experience as a data architect, software architect, or senior data engineer. • At least 5 years leading cross-functional agile product teams. • At least 5 years leading solution architecture and establishing overall technical direction. • At least 4 years leading domain modelling and database schema design. • At least 5 years communicating technical concepts to varied audiences. • Ability to provide two recent project or assignment examples clearly demonstrating your work as a Digital Architect. For each project, you must describe the project, sector, complexity, delivery approach, and the skills and technologies you applied. Experience in public-sector digital service delivery is valued. Data strategy, governance, secure development, relational and nonrelational databases, interoperability, and legacy modernization experience are assets. The selected candidate must complete a conflict-of-interest attestation and any required background or security checks. Some assignments may require enhanced security clearance.
